The Salvation Army and Ketel Thorstenson invite estate planning professionals to the 24th Annual Estate and Charitable Gift Planning Institute. This is a free educational webinar that will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Ketel Thorstenson, 810 Quincy St., Rapid City, South Dakota. Lunch will be provided.

This year’s webinar is titled The Annual Estate Planning Checkup. Due to the ever-changing nature of estate planning, attendees of the webinar will explore strategies to ensure estate plans stay up-to-date with client needs and current regulations.

The webinar speakers, Ann Burns of Gray Plant Mooty and Samuel Donaldson of Georgia State University, will also review recent developments in federal tax laws, analyze case studies exploring ethical issues that impact attorney obligations and client representation, and identify key topics to review annually to maintain estate plan health.

At her practice, Burns focuses on estate and charitable planning, business succession planning, estate and trust administration, and fiduciary and tax litigation. Donaldson is a professor of law at GSU. He teaches a number of tax and estate planning courses, as well as courses in the area of property, commercial law and professional responsibility.

This seminar is for attorneys, CPAs, financial planners, and trust officers, and provides continuing education credits for attendees. To register for this event, please contact Mandi Behn at 402-898-6068.
