Steve has survived 34 tax seasons. He values helping clients solve problems and find solutions for complex issues. As one of their trusted advisors, his job is to make clients feel confident they can achieve their goals, which often entails helping clients navigate family and business transition issues or helping clients with strategies to retain and reward key employees. Steve also values training/mentoring young people in the firm to help prepare the next generation of leaders.

As an audit and tax partner, Steve is primarily responsible for commercial clients with a specialty in construction and employee benefit plans. He spends a significant portion of his year consulting with commercial companies on buying and selling companies, structuring employee compensation plans, and working on company transition planning.

Personal

He is a father of three young adult children. Steve is at the stage of life where he is transitioning from being a parent with kids at home to being an empty nester. He and his wife enjoy traveling. He has visited all 50 states and enjoys meeting people from different parts of the country and world. Steve and his wife love the outdoors and Black Hills and spend their free time biking, hiking, boating, kayaking, snowmobiling, and exploring the Black Hills. They love to travel to wine country areas in the US and Europe.

Steve has spent six weeks walking across Spain and Italy over the last few years and plans to complete the Camino de Santiago in Spain in the next 3 years. He has done 40% of the Camino at this point.
