Jean’s passion is in developing strong relationships and using her expertise to make a positive impact on every client. As an audit partner, she has over 25 years of experience helping organizations of all types and sizes. However, her main focus is on nonprofit organizations and financial institutions. Her audit approach blends technical accuracy with practical solutions. Jean also manages the firm’s tax-exempt division, where she assists nonprofits in obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, including filing of Form 990’s.
Jean is also in charge of quality control for the audit department. She ensures that all regulations are followed, monitors new accounting and auditing standards, leads implementation and research efforts both internally and for clients, and teaches internal and external seminars. She strives for transparency and practicality as she sorts through the complexities inherent in technical regulations.

Personal
Jean grew up on the east side of South Dakota and is a University of South Dakota graduate – go Yotes! Rapid City has been her home since 1994 and she can’t see herself living anywhere else. Although she was never one to play sports (she was a cheerleader in high school), she is a huge baseball fan and would love to visit every MLB ballpark. Jean and her husband, Noel, have four grown kids who all live in different states, so many of their travels revolve around family. They love vacationing and would do it full-time if they could!
Jean’s favorite evening pastime is settling in with a good book or movie and a glass of wine. She enjoys long walks, soaking in the sunshine, adding birds to her life list, playing card and board games, chocolate, and ice cream. If she could ever win the lottery, Jean would start a charitable foundation and support all the causes that are near and dear to her heart!
