I’m a quintessential member of the firm’s Audit department, responsible for assurance practices covering the hospitality, gaming, retail, and employee benefit plan industries. My responsibilities include assisting with new client acceptance and onboarding, overseeing review and audit services, and developing first-rate client relationships.
Since joining the firm in 2014, I have been essential in helping the firm double the size of their retirement plan audit practice. I am also responsible for the beginning of the firm’s hospitality niche group. I have assisted with various new accounting and auditing standards including revenue recognition and leases. One of my prouder moments while working at KT was leading the firm’s PPP Forgiveness Program team. I’m also instrumental in the Audit department’s staff recruiting and development.
In every engagement, I emphasize putting myself in the client’s shoes. Audit services can often be unsettling, are sometimes difficult, and are always time-consuming. Me and my team strive to ensure the process is as painless as possible. I work to educate clients in difficult accounting areas to ensure they have excellent understanding and learn new ways to improve their practices where possible. Above all else, I work to ensure that at the end of the engagement, things are done the right way.

Personal
When I’m not assisting clients, I’m assisting with family life. Whether it is teaching and coaching his my daughters, helping with my wife’s chiropractic and acupuncture business, or just trying to get through the nightly family routine, my family constantly keeps me on my toes. I also enjoy playing morning basketball at the YMCA, fishing, golfing, and hiking in the Black Hills.
I have always thought of myself as having a ‘work hard, play hard’ demeanor; however, I’m quickly finding out how the word ‘play’ changes once you have kids.
